R1-billion drug bust at Beitbridge

South African border authorities intercepted a drug consignment worth nearly R1-billion at the Beitbridge Port of Entry. A truck travelling from Malawi into South Africa was flagged during an intelligence-driven operation, leading to the discovery of 713 000 grams of methaqualone, a chemical commonly used in the production of mandrax.
